KALYA-LALYA mela ( fair )

 Lalya Kalya fair is held in Ajmer. This fair is organised on the day of Lord Nrisinha Jayanti, at the Lord Nrisinha Temple, in Naya Bazaar . In this fair, people receive prasad after being hit with the stick of Lalya, symbolizing the Varaha incarnation of Lord Vishnu.   This fair is more than 300 years old and is a part of the cultural and religious tradition of Ajmer. In the fair, the Leelas of Lord Narasimha are also staged, in which artists in the form of Lalya and Kalya perform various forms of Lord Narasimha.   In the fair, the scene of Lord Narasimha appearing by tearing the pillar is also staged, which is witnessed by a huge crowd. The paper of this pillar is considered sacred and people accept it as prasad.   This fair is an important event for the devotees of Lord Narasimha and people from distant places come to see it and receive the prasad.
